From our Lakewood, Colorado office, we execute projects across North America spanning from California to Florida and Canada down to Mexico. Our projects range in size from simple engineering studies or maintenance repairs to full-scale design of large facilities. About your role:
This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that include illustrating the electrical design in 3D models and drawing packages completed in AutoCAD. This position will collaborate with engineers to gather the required information and complete tasks, and calculations to complete these drawing packages.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
  • Electrical 3D Modeling / Design
    • Completes required tasks, including 3D modeling, red-lined drawing revisions, electrical design calculations, schematic drawing creation, cable tray layouts, electrical AutoCAD block programming, dimensioned and multilayer drawing creation, onelines, area classification development, schematics, grounding, heat trace, circuit schedules, electrical details, BOM creation, lighting design and calculations.
    • Coordinates with all disciplines to create an accurate and complete model.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Design
    • Completes required tasks, including red-lined drawing revisions, control panel and instrument junction box location plans, control panel and instrument junction box layout and design, I/O wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, control system network architecture, control system power distribution, fire and gas safety location plans, emergency shutdown systems and schematics, instrument locations plans, instrument installation details, work point locations for circuit schedule, and BOM creation.
    • Ability to read and understand Instrument Indexes, I/O Lists and P&IDs.
    • Coordinates with I&C Engineers to create an accurate and complete drawing package.
  • Construction Drawings
    • Prepares final construction drawings to reflect the engineered/modeled design.
    • Updates drawings per engineer comments.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Company Hours
This position works 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs.
40-Hour Work Week
Monday through Friday, Hours may vary with the workload.
Evenings/Weekends/OT
As needed to satisfy the requirements of the position.

5-7 years of previous experience utilizing AutoDesk products and multidiscipline team projects specific to the engineering required.
6 months - 3 years leadership experience preferred.
Associate Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
In addition to the above-listed essential duties, this role will ensure the quality of engineering deliverables by reviewing deliverables for design correctness and ensuring inter-discipline work is being completed to maintain proper project workflow. This role will also interact with customers as design lead and facilitate interaction between departments. This position will be able to utilize existing practices as guidelines to determine specific work methods and conduct work activities independently, reaching out to the supervisor to resolve problems and can oversee team members most of the time performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads.
