Ardurra is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern to join our team in Draper, ID.

Primary Function:

Ardurra is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer 2027. As an Aviation Engineering Intern, you will support engineering assignments that contribute to the planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure. This internship is designed to give you exposure to real world engineering work, build your technical skills, and help you explore a future career in the aviation engineering industry.

Primary Duties:

  • Assists with preparing plan details, outlines, and design components for airport infrastructure projects.
  • Supports preparation of technical specifications and provides information for incorporation into project documentation.
  • Assists with researching design options and presenting findings to project managers or project engineers.
  • Reviews design drawings within defined limits and contribute to quality control efforts.
  • Prepares sections of technical memoranda and assist with project report
  • Performs material quantity take-offs and contact vendors to obtain budgetary quotes for cost estimating.
  • Assists in the development of construction cost estimates for aviation-related projects.
  • Supports project managers by monitoring workload, helping identify scope changes, and assisting with documentation needs.
  • Performs field tests, measurements, and data collection to support aviation design and construction.
  • Assists with construction inspection and on-site project representation during active construction seasons.
  • Prepares daily field reports and contributes to construction oversight tasks.
  • Assists with project-related communication and coordination, including client interactions under staff supervision.
  • Provides miscellaneous project support tasks to help teams meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Collaborates with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary team members across aviation assignments.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, standard procedures, and commonly used software tools to support project tasks and documentation.
  • Skilled in organizing data, preparing reports, and applying basic technical understanding to contribute to project deliverables.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and reliability, learn new engineering processes, and collaborate effectively with project teams under close supervision.
  • Knowledge of performance standards and feedback techniques, with the ability to take ownership of actions, hold self and others accountable, provide constructive feedback, and maintain high expectations for quality and outcomes.
  • Knowledge of change management strategies and prioritization methods, with the ability to remain flexible, adjust quickly to changing conditions, stay optimistic, and apply clear, solution-focused thinking in dynamic or uncertain situations.
  • Skilled in active listening, persuasive communication, and audience-centered messaging, with the ability to plan proactively, manage competing priorities, and continuously pursue learning and professional development.

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Interest in airport design, aviation infrastructure, FAA standards, or transportation engineer-ing is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with a team of professionals and independently
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam and Outlook

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

Work is generally conducted in a standard office administrative setting with limited exposure to physical hazards.
