High-Performing Automotive Service Technician (Mainline) - Fowler Ford
The Service Department at Fowler Ford of Tulsa is currently expanding our mainline team and looking for a top-tier Automotive Service Technician. This is a dedicated mainline role-zero Quick Lane, lube rack, or basic maintenance work.

What You Will Do (Core Duties & Responsibilities):
You will be responsible for executing high-level diagnostics, complex repairs, and warranty work. Your day-to-day will or may include:
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Troubleshooting complex drivability, performance, and electrical issues using standard diagnostic tools and manufacturer software.
  • Heavy Line & Powertrain: Performing repairs and full replacements of major components.
  • Electrical Systems: Pinpoint testing wiring harnesses, diagnosing CAN bus network communication faults, and replacing/programming modules.
  • Chassis & HVAC: Handling complex steering and suspension repairs, advanced alignments, and complete climate control system repairs (evacuation, leak testing, and recharging).
  • Quality Control: Road-testing vehicles to ensure customer concerns are fully resolved the first time, maintaining a pristine fixed-right-first time (FRFT) metric.
  • Documentation: Providing clear, comprehensive, and data-driven documentation on all repair orders to strictly comply with warranty protocols and ensure smooth advisor communication.
  • Shop Efficiency: Working in tandem with shop management and dispatch to optimize bay throughput and maintain high personal proficiency numbers.

What You Bring to the Bay (Requirements):
  • Experience: Two to four years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Ford certifications are highly preferred, but we welcome and value technical certifications from any other major automotive manufacturer or brand. ASE certifications are completely optional.
  • Technical Literacy: High proficiency in navigating manufacturer service manuals, wiring diagrams, and TSBs/recalls.
  • Tooling: Ownership of a comprehensive, professional-grade tool set.
  • Drive: A metric-driven mindset with a strong focus on maximizing your flat-rate efficiency while maintaining top-tier repair quality.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, understand, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to prepare routine reports and correspondence and communicate clearly with customers, team members, and management.
  • Compensation: Pay is based on experience and is designed to be highly competitive within the marketplace.
  • Additional Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
