MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION (2nd shift)


Position: Non-Exempt


Reports to: VP Engineering, Maintenance, Environmental & Security


Job Summary:

The Maintenance Electrician provides electrical, electronics, instrumentation and general

maintenance services for the entire manufacturing operations.

Primary responsibility:

• Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of equipment based on industrial process

controls – In process measuring devices, data transmission, storage devices, HMI and AC/DC drives.

• Ability to understand and follow various guidelines and working procedures (e.g. health and

safety, electrical code NEC 70).

• Being familiar with PLC ladder logic, mechanical drawings and operation sequences.

• Read electrical schematics, blueprints and maintain properly.

• Navigate and comprehend PLC ladder logic.

• Some knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, instrumentation, and control.

• Perform routine schedules and unscheduled electrical troubleshooting, repair, and

calibrations.

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and instrumentation problems.

• Knowledge of PM/ workorder software

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot power distribution, and power transformers.

• Must have the ability to work at heights and be certified on scissor lifts and forklifts.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

▪ 5+ years of hands-on experience with electricial work and/or journeyman level experience in

industrial electricity and controls.

▪ A full understanding of analog, digital, and logic circuits.

▪ Required knowledge in the installation and troubleshooting of PLCs, variable frequency

drives, and power distribution systems (Preferred).

▪ Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, Internet, and industry

specific applications.

▪ Sense of resourcefulness and initiative.

▪ Ability to multitask and organize priorities.

▪ Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written.
