Summary
The MIL Corporation is looking for an A/V Technician III to support one or more ongoing AV/Video Teleconferencing (VTC) projects for our government customers from our Lexington Park, MD location. The A/V Technician will work with Technicians and Engineers to gain valuable experience in AV development technologies.
This position currently requires an on-site schedule with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.
This position is currently unfunded and is being posted in anticipation of a future contract award and funding approval. We are proactively identifying and engaging with qualified candidates. While candidates may be contacted for pre-screening, any hiring decisions will be contingent upon funding availability and final program requirements or client approval.
Responsibilities
  • Builds AV racks based of drawings provided by the engineering team
  • Leads on site integration and installation
  • Labels communications infrastructure including cable, panels, patch cords and electronics
  • Installation and mounting of equipment, such as monitors, speakers, and microphones, to ceilings and walls in secure spaces
  • Fabrication, termination, and installation of AV cabling
  • Testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various AV systems
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing existing AV systems
  • Performs inventory management and record configuration information on installed equipment and software modules

Travel
Candidates must be willing and able to travel CONUS, and OCONUS sites up to three weeks at a time. Total travel is approximately 30%.
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience performing testing and/or integration of audio visual (A/V) equipment
  • Ability to follow basic flow diagrams
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communications abilities
  • Experience using MS Office products
  • Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must maintain a valid passport

Desired Qualifications
  • J-STD Certification(s)
  • Experience with testing fiber and/or copper
  • AV certifications a plus
  • Current Secret or above security clearance

Education
A high school diploma or GED
Clearance
All applicants for this position must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.
Compensation
The SCA (Service Contract Act) role at The MIL Corporation is subject to the regulations and guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor. As an SCA position, it is classified as a service contract and is subject to specific wage determinations and benefit requirements mandated by the government.
The compensation and benefits for the SCA role at The MIL Corporation will be in accordance with the prevailing wage rates and benefits specified by the Department of Labor for the specific job classification and location. The current rate is $ 28.79 - $33.11 per hour. Final salary for this position is determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
