The primary function of this position is completing assigned projects in a timely manner and within budget constraints. This role is responsible for accomplishing completed projects by effectively utilizing tools and equipment assigned.

AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Accountable to ensure all safety programs and requirements are followed and fulfilled.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Safety Requirements

  • Follow all safety procedures of the Customer & RELCO while onsite.
  • Keep work area clean & organized so not to present a safety hazard.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) per Customer, RELCO, and OSHA standards.
  • Attend weekly safety meeting onsite.
  • Reports unsafe/unusual conditions & takes action to correct unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Reports all jobsite accidents and injuries as required by company policy.
  • Maintains & secures adequate security to protect company tools, equipment, materials, supplies, etc. from theft or damage.

Quality

  • Follows all quality standards per the drawing and/or supervisor instructions.
  • Ensures the quality of installation meets the design and performance requirements.
  • Adheres to quality standards, governmental regulations, & contractual requirements.
  • Makes sure work is correct, complete, and meets required quality standards.
  • Reports any errors or omissions in design, fabrication, drawings, procedures, work sequence, etc. to the Construction Supervisor as soon as possible for direction on how to resolve the situation.
  • Complete any required paperwork free from errors and in a timely manner.

Equipment/Tools

  • Maintains all tools, equipment, and supplies assigned by using properly and takes care of.
  • Operates power tool required for cutting, grinding, etc.
  • Properly uses welding equipment such as heli-arc torch, MIG setup, cutting torch, and harness.
  • Properly uses rigging equipment such as slings, chokers, shackles, winches, chain falls, come-a-longs, equipment dollies, etc.
  • Understands & uses crane signals.
  • Properly uses abrasives & other grinding/metal finishing supplies & equipment.
  • Properly uses pipe threading & cutting equipment.

Onsite Installation

  • Installs Stainless Steel equipment & process piping.
  • Uses various measuring tools, plumb lines, squares, levels, etc. to accurately position & align various piping systems, ductwork, vessels, machinery, and other process components.
  • Fit up and welds pipe, tube, ductwork, field-assembled vessels, and components.
  • Understands & interprets blueprints and other forms of instructions.
  • Maintains good relationships with fellow workers, contractors, and customerโ€™s personnel.

Other

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attend training in skill development & safe work habits as required.
  • Assists the Construction Supervisor in training new employees.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a food plant environment. Personal protective equipment is required. This position is required to wear a respirator during certain processes.

Requirements:

TRAVEL

Must be willing to travel 90% + of the time domestically & internationally for extended periods of time (typically 9 days on, 5 days off), residing in company provided lodging for trip durations.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 1 year of experience working in similar working capacity

Must have TIG welding experience

Strong mathematical skills
