Job description

What You’ll Do: As ASEC’s Director of Contracts, you will provide strategic leadership for all contract management activities across the organization, ensuring the successful execution of corporate objectives while protecting the company's business, financial, and legal interests. This highly visible leadership position oversees a team of contract professionals and serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on contractual, regulatory, and business matters. The ideal candidate brings extensive government contracting experience, a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, and a track record of building scalable contract management processes within growing organizations. Experience supporting the growth of a larger government contractor and applying those best practices in a mid-sized business environment is highly desired. This position is based on-site at our Lexington Park, MD headquarters.  Key Responsibilities:  * Direct the full lifecycle administration of federal government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, consulting agreements, and other corporate contracts. 
* Lead complex negotiations with government agencies, prime contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and business partners to achieve favorable business outcomes while maintaining compliance. 
* Advise executive leadership on contractual risk, compliance requirements, business strategy, and contractual obligations. 
* Ensure compliance with applicable federal acquisition regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and other government contracting requirements. 
* Develop, implement, and continuously improve contract management policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls to support organizational growth and operational excellence. 
* Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks while protecting the company's interests. 
* Oversee contract closeouts, modifications, audits, claims, disputes, and compliance reviews. 
* Monitor key contract performance metrics, renewal schedules, and reporting requirements. 
* Lead and continue to develop our incredible contracts team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth. 
This description outlines the general nature and scope of the role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Requirements What You’ll Bring:   * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, Contract Management, or a related field, required.
* 15+ years of progressive experience in government contract administration and management, including significant leadership responsibility, required.
* Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing contracts teams in a federal government contracting environment. 
* Extensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, government contracting regulations, contract types, subcontract management, and compliance requirements. 
* Proven experience negotiating and administering complex, high-value federal contracts and subcontracts. 
* Strong business acumen with the ability to balance risk management, compliance, and operational objectives. 
* Experience establishing scalable contracts processes and supporting organizational growth. 
* Experience using Deltek Costpoint is a plus.
* Experience supporting organizations with DoD, Navy, NAVAIR, or other federal civilian and defense agency customers. 
* Professional certification such as Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), preferred.

Security Clearance Requirement: * This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. 
Salary Range: * The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000, based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and overall fit for the role.
