Job description


SAIC's STG is seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Software Developer to join our growing team focused on the design, development, and deployment of a next-generation Agentic AI Platform. In this role, you will contribute to building intelligent, autonomous agent frameworks and modern web applications that support complex decision-making workflows. You will work across the full development stack - from crafting intuitive front-end user experiences to building robust backend services and cloud infrastructure components. This role can be worked remotely anywhere in the United States. Candidates must have the ability to get a secret clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain front-end web applications using modern web technologies and low-code platforms.
  • Build and style responsive, user-friendly interfaces within the MendixI platform, ensuring a polished and effective user experience.
  • Develop and maintain backend REST services and business logic to support platform capabilities and agentic AI workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of agentic AI components, including integration with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith.
  • Support development and deployment of cloud-based services and infrastructure on AWS, leveraging tools such as OpenSearch, SageMaker, Lambda, and SQS.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Packer, and Terragrunt.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, architects, and product owners to translate requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions
  • Support testing, debugging, and performance optimization of platform components
  • Maintain documentation for system architecture, APIs, and development processes

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience. Masters and 0 years.
  • 2-5 years of professional software development experience
  • Experience building front-end web applications using core web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience developing backend services and APIs, including RESTful service design and complex business logic implementation, using languages such as Python, Java, or NodeJS
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative agile environment
  • Pass CompTIA Security Plus Examination within 90 Days of Employment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, no dual citizenship
  • Candidates must have the ability to get a secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ReactJS for building modern, component-based web applications. Familiarity with low-code development platforms, particularly Mendix (note: team training on Mendix is provided). Ability to effectively style and design front-end applications for usability and visual consistency
  • Python development experience, particularly for backend service development. Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and/or LangSmith. Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration, autonomous workflow design, or LLM integration patterns
  • Experience with AWS cloud services, including one or more of the following: OpenSearch, SageMaker, Lambda, SQS
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including: Terraform, Packer, Terragrunt
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
