Role Overview

Candidates for the Transmission Line Civil Inspector role is expected to have a strong background in Transmission Line Construction. Candidates should be knowledgeable in soils, reinforcement, and structural concrete in order to perform the following tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Provide hands-on supervision of construction activities across various projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct daily inspections and safety observations while documenting milestones and generating reports.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and engineering teams to facilitate successful project execution.
  • Maintain effective communication with onsite teams and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and other software for reporting, budgeting, and presentations.

Requirements

Experience

  • Detailed knowledge of civil transmission line construction practices, particularly in the areas of soil preparation, reinforcing steel placement, formwork, and structural concrete.
  • A strong civil construction background is required.
  • Able to inspect all aspects of civil transmission construction, including excavation, backfill, compaction, foundation preparation, rebar installation, concrete formwork, and placement of structural concrete.
  • Responsible for verifying that all work performed by the prime construction contractor complies with the client's construction standards, approved engineering drawings, and project specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil and structural plans, construction drawings, rebar placement diagrams, concrete mix designs, and applicable specifications and standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and communicate findings effectively to project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in civil construction, preferably within the transmission, utility, or infrastructure sectors, with a strong emphasis on foundations, earthwork, and structural concrete.
  • Strong management, coordination, and communication abilities; proven experience in field construction oversight.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with construction management software for documentation and reporting is required
