Title
Think Tank Lab Coordinator
Position Description
The College of Science and Mathematics is looking for a Think Tank Lab Coordinator to assist in overseeing the BSU Think Tank as well as Think Tank Lab Techs.
Think Tank Lab Techs will complete an intensive learning period on how to use and operate Maker Space technologies including 3D printers, microcontrollers, robots, small electronics, and prototyping machines.
After extensive training their duties will include:
  • mentoring and tutoring other students
  • staffing and organizing a Maker Space site
  • co-leading workshops and tutorials
  • constructing demonstrations.

Eligibility requirements:
  • Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Ability to commit to working in the Maker space for at least 10 hours a week during the academic year
  • Must have previously worked in as a Think Tank lab tech for a minimum of one semester.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Personable, friendly, able to work with and tutor others
  • Passion for tinkering and building things
  • Able to work and learn independently
  • Experience using CNCs, Milling Machines, Lathes, 3d printers, Laser cutters
  • Familiarity with CAD, CAM, Fusion, 3d printing software
  • Familiarity with computer programming
  • Knowledge of electronics or Makerspace technology is not required, but a definite plus

Physical Demands
Able to occasionally move equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
