Job description

Amazon MGM Studios is responsible for producing and acquiring compelling, exclusive Original content for our massive global base of Amazon Prime Video customers. For the studio that continues to bring exceptional television (Fallout, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Mr. & Mrs.

Smith) and captivating movies (The Sheep Detectives, Project Hail Mary, and Red One), we are looking for someone for this exciting opportunity with a high performing & ambitious team.
We're seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our First Look & Overall (FL/O) Finance team. This individual will work closely with Development and Production business lines, with direct ownership of contract payment management, recoupment reporting, overhead reimbursements, and complex deal audits spanning multiple projects, services, and timelines. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting cross-functional financial processes involving talent deals, guaranteed fees, and installment-based payment structures, with a strong track record of building reports, audits, and processes from scratch, preferably in the entertainment industry

Additionally, the Senior Financial Analyst will be expected to automate and create efficiencies across the workflow using programmatic and AI resources where applicable.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end contract payments across FL/O deals, ensuring accuracy of installment schedules, payment terms, recoupment charge-offs, and disbursement timelines
- Own recoupment reporting for Development and Production payments, verifying recoupable fees and aggregating data to inform guaranteed fee payouts and Accounting monthly reporting deadlines.
- Support overhead invoicing process by communicating with talent & business managers to validate invoiced charges and ensure timely processing.
- Execute complex deal audits involving multiple projects and services across multiple stakeholders, identifying discrepancies and escalating for resolution.
- Build and maintain scalable reporting and processes to support FL/O deal tracking and payment operations.
- Partner with Business Affairs, Legal, Production Finance, Development Finance, and Creative to ensure contractual compliance, payment accuracy, and financial reporting.
- Support FP&A activities including payment operations reporting, actuals-to-budget variance analysis, and month-end close processes.
A day in the life
A typical day involves performing deal audits across multiple projects, managing overhead reimbursement requests, and fielding ad-hoc inquiries regarding payment discrepancies, schedule changes, or recoupment reporting questions. This role requires keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to context-switch across competing priorities. The Senior Financial Analyst regularly interacts with Business Affairs, Accounting, Production and Development Finance, and external talent representatives daily, requiring clear and professional communication

The successful candidate will have operated in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and will be comfortable managing multiple workstreams while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
About the team
We are a passionate and collaborative team dedicated to reimagining entertainment production. Our group thrives on creativity, innovation, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional content. By joining us, you'll be part of a forward-thinking team that values individual contributions and collective success.
