Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, checking rail cars and trucks for foreign materials; loading trucks and rail cars with hydrated lime, quick lime, and by-products to legal weight; observe, monitor and report any conditions that could lead to product nonconformity or other irregularity; participate in safety meetings and training sessions; inspect work areas for safety hazards before beginning work activity; climb onto the top of rail cars, trucks, and/or loading platforms; load rail cars and trucks to proper weights; during loading, uses rail switches and helps loader operator to take rail cars from one track to another; take and record tank measurements for inventory purposes; rail car inspection and cleaning; and other duties as assigned by management.

Shift: 12hr rotating shift

Pay: Starting at $28.81 per hour

Duties:

  • Complete safety, health and task training.

  • Meet requirements for employment and the position.

  • Read & Use the operator’s manuals and fill out simple reports such as pre-shift inspection forms.

  • Carry out simple oral & written instructions & deal with simple problems from standardized situations.

  • Have knowledge of machine mechanics.

  • Know safety, environmental and other federal, state and local regulations needed for the job.

  • Safely complete other assigned training.

  • Safely meet the supervisor’s standards of performance.

  • Safely Replaces or assists other workers as needed.

  • Safely performs other tasks as assigned by supervision or designated lead person.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
