Job description

PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. has a proud and lengthy history of delivering innovative, challenging, and complex projects. PGH Wong was established in 1985 on its extraordinary foundation in systems engineering and is now a full-service engineering, architecture, construction management, and program/project management consulting firm for public and private entities across the nation.

We are currently collecting applications for potential upcoming openings for Resident Engineer based in the Northern California (Sacramento/Stockton) area. While there is no active position at this time, we are proactively building our talent pipeline for future projects and staffing needs. Qualified candidates will be contacted as relevant opportunities become available.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Technical compliance and administration of construction contracts.
  • Enforcing contract terms and conditions.
  • Documentation of contractual actions.
  • Interfaces with the owner, engineers, architects, and other third parties.
  • Implementation of cost and schedule control procedures for construction management.
  • Management of field staff, including inspectors and office engineers.
  • Management of RFIs, submittals, and construction changes.
  • Review of contractor payment requests.
  • Resolution of construction disputes.
  • Development of periodic reports providing information on construction progress, schedule status, cost/budget status, and quality assurance activities.
  • Development of change orders and change notices, including findings of fact and all supporting documentation.
  • Understands the development of CPM Schedules from Baseline Schedules to Monthly Updates.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer is required
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Engineering and/or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of
    5 years of experience in the construction industry serving in similar capacities.
  • CCM certification or PMP certification preferred.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent coordination, oral, and written skills are required.
  • Understands the development of CPM Schedules from Baseline Schedules to Monthly Updates.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
