Their leaders are focused on their individual team members' success, in the belief that in the culmination of many successful people, they will have an extraordinarily successful organization.
Role Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled and field-oriented Mining Geologist to support mineral exploration, deposit modelling, and development planning across Northwestern Colorado. The ideal candidate will bring strong field mapping skills, experience with geological modelling and resource estimation, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to inform project strategy.
This is a full-time, in-office role based in the Grand Junction area of Northwestern Colorado and includes occasional travel. A relocation allowance is available.
Northwestern Colorado offers a high quality of life with stunning natural beauty, year-round outdoor activities, and easy access to Aspen, Vail, Denver and other regional attractions, without the high cost of living. The area boasts excellent healthcare, strong community infrastructure, and convenient regional airports with direct flights to major cities.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct geological mapping, sampling programs, and site evaluations to assess mineralization
· Contribute to the development and interpretation of geologic models using drilling and field data
· Support resource estimations, ore body delineation, and grade control strategies
· Collaborate with mining engineers and project managers to inform mine design and development planning
· Compile and analyze geological data for technical reporting, regulatory submissions, and internal planning
· Monitor and support exploration drilling programs with accurate core logging and lithological descriptions
· Maintain geologic databases and ensure data integrity across modeling and reporting workflows
· Stay informed on regional geology, stratigraphy, and mineral resource opportunities within key Colorado basins
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Earth Sciences
· P.G. (Professional Geologist) license or eligibility strongly preferred
· 4+ years of experience in mineral exploration, mining geology, or geologic modeling
· Familiarity with the geology of the Piceance or similar mineral-rich formations
· Proficiency in geologic modelling and GIS software (e.g., Leapfrog, Surfer, ArcGIS, Datamine)
Key Competencies
· Understanding of mineral deposit identification, geological mapping, sampling techniques, and exploration programs across a variety of geological settings.
· Experience using geological software such as Leapfrog, Surfer, or similar platforms to develop and maintain 2D and 3D geological models.
· Ability to accurately log drill core, interpret lithologies, and document geological observations to support exploration and resource evaluation activities.
· Resource Estimation & Grade Control: Experience supporting or conducting mineral resource estimations and contributing to grade control programs through data interpretation and modelling.
· Experience contributing to mineral resource estimation and grade control programs through data collection, interpretation, and geological modelling.
· Western Colorado Basin Expertise: Familiarity with the geology, mineral potential, and stratigraphy of the Piceance or comparable regions is an asset.
· Ability to maintain accurate geological records, manage exploration data, and analyze information to support project objectives and decision-making.
· Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to present complex geological findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Team Collaboration & Leadership: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a positive and performance-driven work culture.
· Regulatory & Environmental Awareness: Knowledge of permitting requirements, environmental standards, and best practices for responsible mineral exploration and development.
What We Offer
This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a company that values technical excellence and long-term thinking. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects and contribute directly to the exploration and development strategy of a dynamic organization. Competitive compensation and relocation support are available.
