Job description

About the Position

Dexis is seeking a Computer Operator II to support a large-scale Army test and evaluation program. The project provides data collection, technical writing, computer operations, range scheduling, and administrative support services necessary to execute the government's test mission. Support encompasses testing of a wide variety of automotive, combat, electronic, general equipment, and ordnance materiel, with services including data collection and coordination, data compilation and processing, development and management of data collection forms, test monitoring, technical writing and editorial review, reporting, data and software administration, range scheduling, and related operational support.ย 

The Computer Operator II supports functional users by preparing computer processing requirements, maintaining test projects and customized electronic data-entry forms, and using data management and reporting tools to track information and produce reports. As required, the role seeks technical guidance before working with users and personnel from other agencies to formulate system requirements.ย 

Work will be performed primarily onsite in Aberdeen, Maryland, with travel to other locations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) as required by mission needs. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities
  • Support functional users of computer systems by accepting processing requirements and preparing them for execution.ย 
  • Set up and maintain test projects and suggest improvements to customized electronic data-entry forms.ย 
  • Use web-enabled data management systems such as ODIN and VDLS for tracking and monitoring.ย 
  • Use application tools such as Cognos to query databases and produce professional reports based on user requirements.ย 
  • As required, seek technical guidance before working with users and personnel from other agencies involved with or interested in test results to formulate requirements that may result in system modifications.ย 
Qualificationsย 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Studies or a related field such as Information Technology, Information Management Systems, or Computer Technology; OR an Associate's degree in Computer Studies or a related field and two (2) years of experience; OR experience using data-entry software tools in a Windows environment and industry-standard reporting tools such as IBM Cognos, Microsoft Access, or Crystal Reports.ย 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.ย 
  • Must possess a high school diploma.ย 
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.ย 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.ย 
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software.ย 
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned functions, which may include working in extreme heat or cold, high humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, at heights, and walking distances over unimproved terrain while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).ย 
  • Must be available to support work outside normal duty hours when required by mission needs.ย 
  • Must be willing and able to travel within CONUS and OCONUS as required.ย
