About Sunfish

Sunfish is a fast-growing, venture-backed Series A health tech startup. Our mission is to make the parenthood journey easy and affordable to help everyone build the family of their dreams. Used by leading fertility clinics throughout the United States, we help patients navigate and afford treatments. Our company ingests unique patient biodata to support patients using AI/ML. Sunfish’s team is composed of individuals with backgrounds in fertility, health tech, insurtech, and fintech – all with a shared passion for bringing equity to family building. And we’ve done this before - our executive team has had 19 exits and 4 IPOs to date.

The Position: Head of Operations

We’re seeking a strategic, analytical, and execution-oriented Head of Operations to help Sunfish organize and align how we plan, prioritize, and execute during a period of rapid growth. This leader will partner with the CEO and functional leaders to coordinate company planning, operating cadence, KPI management, cross-functional initiatives, business systems, and SOPs.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will bring functional plans together into a unified company plan, create structure around ambiguous work, and ensure priorities, decisions, owners, and next steps are clear. This is a hands-on role for a collaborative leader who can turn strategy into coordinated execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Company Planning & Performance

  • Orchestrate annual and quarterly planning in partnership with the CEO and functional leaders with clear priorities, targets, owners, and dependencies.
  • Design and facilitate the company operating cadence, including KPI reviews, business reviews, and leadership planning forums.
  • Partner with leaders to define KPIs, evaluate performance, identify gaps, and agree on actions.
  • Synthesize business and financial performance into clear insights and recommendations for leadership and board discussions.

Cross-Functional Initiatives and Strategy

  • Program-manage the company’s highest-priority cross-functional initiatives in partnership with executive sponsors and functional owners.
  • Establish clear objectives, work plans, owners, milestones, dependencies, and success measures.
  • Keep stakeholders aligned, identify blockers, and ensure decisions and commitments move forward.
  • Coordinate company-wide initiatives, product launches, and operating model changes.
  • Lead high-priority CEO-sponsored projects from initial analysis through implementation and handoff.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner and organizing partner to the CEO and leadership team, to support business operations, company offsites, and ongoing initiatives.

Revenue & Business Operations

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Business Operations and Revenue Operations team, setting clear priorities and success metrics.
  • Partner with Growth, Member and Clinic Success, Product, and Finance to improve the end-to-end revenue funnel.
  • Strengthen forecasting, conversion, cross-functional handoffs, and revenue visibility.
  • Ensure CRM and business intelligence systems provide accurate, actionable information for decision-making.
  • Identify funnel gaps and coordinate cross-functional actions to improve performance.

Business Systems, SOPs & Infrastructure

  • Partner with functional leaders to translate business processes into clear, scalable SOPs with defined owners and handoffs.
  • Own the rollout and optimization of new and existing business tools, including requirements gathering, implementation, documentation, training, and adoption.
  • Oversee core business systems, including HubSpot, and ensure they are embedded into day-to-day work.
  • Monitor tool adoption, data quality, and process adherence while identifying opportunities to standardize or automate workflows.
  • Coordinate commercial contracting and partner with Legal, Finance, and Compliance to track contractual, vendor, and enterprise risks.

Member Operations

  • Partner with Member Experience to build and scale the operational infrastructure supporting the end-to-end member journey.
  • Improve critical workflows including billing, care coordination, member communications, and cross-functional handoffs.
  • Use member feedback and operational data to identify friction points and drive improvements to the member experience.
  • Build scalable processes and playbooks that enable the Member Experience team to operate effectively as Sunfish grows.

Must-Have Skills and Experience:

  • Significant experience in Business Operations, Strategy and Operations, Revenue Operations, Strategic Finance, consulting, or a related function
  • A bachelor degree or MBA in a business-related field, such as Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Experience in an early-stage, venture-backed startup
  • Demonstrated experience with company planning, KPI management, and business performance reviews
  • Track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing Revenue Operations or partnering closely with go-to-market teams; fluency with Excel, Google sheets, and business intelligence tools
  • Experience operationalizing SOPs and implementing company-wide systems, including CRM platforms such as HubSpot
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and unit economics
  • Excellent program management, executive communication, and organizational skills
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and a collaborative, low-ego working style
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Passion for Sunfish’s mission
  • Healthtech experience is preferred
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
