Job description

Step into Preconstruction that starts in the field

Picture your morning: a walkthrough at an active industrial site to verify scope; mid-day you are translating electrical drawings, P&IDs, and multi-view/isometric details into a constructible plan; by afternoon you are aligning vendor quotes, labor plans, and safety allowances so the estimate reflects how work truly happens.

About Re:Build Optimation and Re:Build Manufacturing

Re:Build Optimation designs and delivers custom process equipment and automated systems worldwide. For nearly four decades, we have executed complex chemical process work with precision. Our 70+ engineers, designers, and programmers, together with 150,000 square feet of fabrication space and 70+ skilled tradespeople, enable turnkey execution from concept through fabrication, installation, and commissioning. As part of Re:Build Manufacturing, we combine national-scale capability with the agility of a specialized team, serving traditional and green energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, glass, and advanced manufacturing.

What you’ll tackle
  • Dissect bid packages and assemble complete estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted scopes.
  • Perform detailed takeoffs from electrical drawings and schematics, P&IDs, and multi-view/isometric plans.
  • Validate site conditions through field walks and client walkthroughs to confirm means, methods, and constraints.
  • Partner with construction managers, engineers, and electricians to confirm constructability and the execution plan.
  • Coordinate directly with manufacturers and vendors to verify specifications and pricing for gear, controls, and components.
  • Engage permitting bodies and inspectors to align estimates with regulatory requirements.
  • Select and source wire, conduit, fittings, controls, and related electrical materials; manage quotations and procurement strategies.
  • Support schedule development, crew planning, and cost tracking alongside project teams.
  • Ensure estimates reflect realistic installation methods and jobsite logistics.
  • Apply NEC/NFPA 70 and OSHA 29 CFR 1926; price in safety needs including LOTO, arc-flash, and site-specific programs.
  • Continuously improve accuracy, standardization, and cost efficiency in estimating processes.
  • Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, clarifications, and revisions.
What you bring
  • 7+ years in electrical field construction and 3+ years in electrical estimating.
  • Hands-on fluency with power distribution, instrumentation, and control wiring.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and isometric/multi-view drawings.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA requirements.
  • Comfort with estimating software/tools and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Bonus: familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Organized, detail-driven, analytical; able to balance office estimating with field validation.
  • Clear communicator and collaborative teammate.
Additionally
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Local travel for site visits.
Work environment
  • Office-based role with regular visits to construction and industrial sites.
  • Frequent exposure to active jobsites, industrial facilities, and client locations.
