Job description

Scope:Large-scale SAN refresh across multiple datacenters in Lee's Summit and Kansas City. Primary platforms are Dell Powermax and HPE 3PAR (Cerner environment), with NetApp as secondary storage and Brocade FC switching. Work is a combination of on-site datacenter tasks and off-site support.
We are seeking a hands-on Storage Engineer with strong experience in enterprise SAN environments to support storage infrastructure modernization and day-to-day operations across multiple data center locations. This role includes a mix of on-site and remote work and focuses on storage platforms, Fibre Channel switching, provisioning, configuration, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess existing SAN and storage environments and document current-state configurations
  • Configure, deploy, and support enterprise storage arrays and Fibre Channel switching infrastructure
  • Manage storage provisioning, LUN presentation, host mappings, zoning, and fabric connectivity
  • Validate end-to-end storage connectivity and overall platform health after changes or deployments
  • Monitor storage and fabric environments, troubleshoot issues, and support ongoing operational needs
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and as-built records
  • Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure and deployment teams to execute project work

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise SAN environments
  • Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Dell PowerMax, HPE 3PAR, or similar technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Fibre Channel switching, including zoning, fabric management, and ISL configuration
  • Knowledge of LUN masking, host groups, and multipathing technologies such as MPIO or PowerPath
  • Ability to work on-site as needed within the Kansas City metropolitan area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NetApp administration, including ONTAP
  • Relevant storage or Fibre Channel certifications
  • Experience in large-scale, multi-site data center environments
  • Familiarity with storage management tools and monitoring platforms
  • Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
