Job description

Job Summary:


The Quality Control Manager (QCM) will provide leadership in all areas of the quality control department.  The QCM is responsible for all departmental activities and maintaining quality control processes, analyzing the results and giving feedback and guidance to the production team.  S/he will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate a program to ensure the organization’s production operations, from raw material to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.  Ensure the staff follows the set processes and adheres to best production practices and product quality standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·         “2” Quality Control Supervisor (QCS)

Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Developing and implementing quality management systems and policies.

·         Leading a team of quality professionals and supervising their activities.

·         Setting quality objectives and targets for the organization.

·         Conducting audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.

·         Analyzing data and trends to identify areas for improvement in quality processes.

·         Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers to address quality issues

and requirements.

·         Developing and delivering training programs on quality management and continuous improvement.

·         Leading root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality-related problems.

·         Reporting on quality performance to senior management and recommending strategic initiatives for

improvement.

·         Leading strategic initiatives to enhance overall quality performance and customer satisfaction.

·         Conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate quality-

related risks.

·         Representing the organization in industry forums, standards committees, or regulatory agencies

related to quality management.

·         Monitoring changes in quality standards, regulations, and best practices and implementing

necessary updates to quality management systems.

·         Mentoring and coaching quality team members to support their professional development and

career growth.

·         Leading or supporting new product development processes to ensure that quality requirements are

met from design to launch.

·         Developing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track and report on quality

performance at all levels of the organization.

·         Collaborating with senior management to align quality objectives with overall business goals and

strategies.

Required Skills/Abilities:

·         Leadership experience is managing a successful quality control department.

·         Certification in quality control methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean, is preferred.

·         Proficient in blue print reading for purpose of establishing customer’s critical needs and how they

should be measured.

·         Proficient using measuring devices including calipers, tape measure, and height gage.

·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·         Experience with CMM, comparator, ring, and plug gages is a plus.

·         Ability to resolve quality-related issues in a timely matter.

·         Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with little supervision (self-starter).

·         Experience with root cause analysis required

·         PPAP process is experience is a requirement.

·         Ability to train production staff on quality standards.

·         Ability to implement and analyze SPC and capability studies.

·         Gauge calibration, policies and practices experienced.
