ABOUT THE ROLE

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, optimizing inventory performance, and supporting supply chain operations through data-driven planning and analysis. The role includes management of warehouse staff. This role leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze inventory trends, improve forecasting accuracy, automate reporting, and support strategic inventory decisions. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous process improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production and customer demand.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, shortages, excess inventory, slow-moving items, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Utilize AI-powered tools to improve inventory forecasting, demand planning, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel reports, dashboards, and analytical models using formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, and other advanced features.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations and Production to align inventory strategies with business objectives.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and partner with warehouse personnel and production managers to resolve variances.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Generate inventory performance metrics, including inventory turns, service levels, fill rates, and inventory aging reports.
  • Recommend inventory planning improvements based on historical data, market trends, and predictive analytics.
  • Assist in implementing inventory control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support ERP system data integrity by maintaining accurate inventory records and item master information.
  • Prepare management reports and present inventory performance recommendations.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Finance, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of inventory planning, inventory control, supply chain, or materials management experience.
  • Management Experience – Current staff of (4) employees
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
    • PivotTables
    • XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
    • INDEX/MATCHPower Query (preferred)
    • Charts and Dashboards
    • Data validation and conditional formatting
  • Experience using ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or similar – note Epicor is our system and would be a plus).
  • Experience utilizing AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms) to improve reporting, forecasting, workflow efficiency, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of inventory forecasting methodologies.
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.
  • Familiarity with SQL or data visualization software.
  • Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement experience
