What you can expect to be doing:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated CQA Manager with a strong construction related technical background over a range of engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will start with Haley Ward by supporting construction quality assurance needs related to landfill construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing and maintaining CQA Programs for several landfill sites with opportunities to cross-over to other civil, structural, and municipal infrastructure projects. CQA staff are expected to procure and manage subcontracted construction material testing laboratories throughout the construction process. CQA staff are responsible for administering, performing, and documenting detailed inspections and monitored observations / oversight for landfill construction projects, including but not limited to expansions, final cover systems, landfill gas management systems, stormwater control systems, and leachate management systems. CQA staff are expected to work closely with a construction service team to address complex technical challenges during the construction process and provide detailed documentation of processes that require verification of conformance with project specifications and contract documents. CQA staff will also work closely with owners, project managers, professional engineers, contractors, and regulators on a day-to-day basis. CQA staff will assist in the preparation of work change directives, if required. Paid Travel and overnight accommodation may be required as part of job duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality assurance inspections throughout the landfill construction process to ensure compliance with regulations and conformance with project specifications.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and procedures to maintain construction quality standards.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to address any quality issues and provide guidance on corrective actions.
  • Review construction plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspection results and communicate findings to project stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of quality assurance programs to enhance construction quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain project documentation during construction.
  • Assist with construction progress meetings and report CQA findings on a regular basis.
  • Assist with preparation of Final Construction Reports.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience in professional engineering services, sitework, earthwork, landfill construction, or related environmental construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction quality standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Certifications in Soils and Geosynthetics (preference given to GCI-ICP)
