Job description

Serenity Therapy Services is a growing, minority-owned mental health practice dedicated to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care to individuals and families. We specialize in maternal mental health, general mental wellness, and integrated emotional support across the lifespan. We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and highly professional Mental Health Therapist (Contractor) to join our team and support our mission of delivering high-quality, client-centered mental health care.

The ideal candidate is clinically competent, self-motivated, and committed to providing care that reflects cultural humility, respect, and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a positive, trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, intake evaluations, and diagnose mental health disorders using DSM5TR criteria.
  • Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy based on your scope and experience.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and update them according to client needs and progress.
  • Maintain consistent, ongoing sessions to support continuity of care.
  • Make referrals to external providers or community resources when appropriate.
  • Complete documentation that is timely, thorough, and clinically accurate in the practice’s EHR system.
  • Maintain a minimum caseload of 10
  • Uphold ethical, legal, and professional standards of mental health practice.
  • Stay current with best practices, emerging research, and state licensure requirements.
    • Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

    • Active Ohio license: LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC or realted licensure

  • Strong diagnostic skills and experience creating effective treatment plans.
  • Commitment to providing culturally sensitive and traumainformed care.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Familiarity with maternal mental health or willingness to receive training in this specialty is highly preferred.
