Job description

GeoSearch is actively looking for a Survey Project Manager in Salt Lake City, UT. In this role, you will manage a wide range of land survey projects from boundary and topography to ALTA and construction staking. You will provide clear direction to both field and office staff, perform quality control, lead technical deliverables, and maintain client relationships. This role requires a strong technical background and a desire to lead through collaboration, coaching, and accountability. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review boundary analyses and topographic survey calculations 
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes 
  • Lead quality control of survey deliverables including plats, ALTA surveys, design mapping, and construction staking calculations 
  • Prepare proposals and collaborate with technical teams to define project approach 
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and direction to field and office staff 
  • Coordinate with our Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to align staff and project needs 
  • Ensure adherence to our firmwide processes for contracting, project accounting, and quality standards 
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring responsiveness and delivery excellence 
  • Participate in cross-discipline collaboration with engineers, planners, and other professionals


Required Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of experience in land surveying 
  • Experience managing projects and mentoring survey staff 
  • Strong client communication skills and attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and experience reviewing engineering plans 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification in Utah 
  • Familiarity with state and county mapping standards 
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center
