Job description

Autumn ABA is a New Jersey-based Applied Behavior Analysis company expanding into Puerto Rico. We are actively finalizing contracts with Puerto Rico island state insurance providers and are looking for a certified, experienced BCBA based on the island to join us at the ground level — helping build and lead our clinical operations from the start.

This is not a standard staff position. It is a rare opportunity for a motivated, knowledgeable BCBA in Puerto Rico to step into a high-impact role with real ownership, real influence, and long-term growth potential as the organization expands island-wide.

If you are a certified BCBA currently living in Puerto Rico, understand the local regulatory and insurance landscape, and are ready to do more than manage a caseload — we want to hear from you.

About the Opportunity

You will work directly with Autumn ABA's leadership team in New Jersey to help finalize insurance credentialing and contracts, establish clinical standards, and build out our team and services across Puerto Rico. You will be the clinical anchor on the island — responsible for quality, compliance, supervision, and growth.

What You Will Do

Oversee all clinical operations for Autumn ABA in Puerto Rico

Assist with finalizing insurance and payer contracts, including ASES, Plan Vital, and Puerto Rico island state insurance providers

Ensure full compliance with Puerto Rico BCBA licensure, credentialing, and practice regulations

Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and quality assurance systems

Conduct and/or oversee client assessments, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and individualized treatment plan development

Recruit, supervise, and mentor RBTs and Behavior Technicians across the island

Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations throughout Puerto Rico

Collaborate closely with NJ-based leadership on startup milestones and contract obligations

Represent Autumn ABA professionally and mission-driven across the island

What You Must Have

Active BCBA certification in good standing — this is a non-negotiable requirement

Current resident of Puerto Rico — you must be living on the island now, not planning to relocate

Thorough knowledge of Puerto Rico's ABA regulatory environment, including licensure, credentialing, and payer systems (ASES, Plan Vital, ASSMCA)

Spanish fluency — required for client, family, and provider communication

Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Experience supervising clinical staff or managing an ABA program

Entrepreneurial mindset — you are comfortable building structure, solving problems, and working in a startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in Puerto Rico, or currently pursuing licensure

Established relationships with Puerto Rico insurance payers, referral networks, or provider communities

Previous experience in a senior, supervisory, or program-level role within an ABA organization

Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English

Why Autumn ABA

Direct collaboration with company founders and NJ leadership

Competitive compensation based on experience and scope

Flexibility in schedule and structure as services are built out

Full support with credentialing, onboarding, and administrative systems

A clear path to long-term leadership as Autumn ABA grows across Puerto Rico

A mission-driven team committed to bringing quality ABA services to families on the island

Location

Puerto Rico — island-wide. You must currently reside in Puerto Rico. Services will reach clients across the island, with focus on populated areas and communities where ABA agencies are active.

To Apply

Certified BCBAs currently residing in Puerto Rico are strongly encouraged to apply. Please include your BCBA certification number, confirmation of current Puerto Rico residency, and a brief overview of your experience with Puerto Rico insurance systems and clinical leadership.
