Overview

The control room Audio Video Technician supports live sports, concerts, and special events at New Ryan Field and Welsh-Ryan Arena. This part-time, seasonal position operates assigned control room, camera, audio, intercom, or production equipment based on event needs. We are seeking dependable, hardworking production professionals who communicate well, take direction, and perform calmly in fast-paced live-event environments.

 
This role pays an hourly rate of $28.00-$34.00

Responsibilities
  • Support assigned technical and production responsibilities before, during, and after live events.
  • Follow direction from producers, directors, engineers, and event leadership while communicating technical issues promptly.
  • Contribute to a professional, collaborative, and customer-service-oriented production environment, including sponsorship activations, special events, and revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Set up, operate, and strike audio, video, broadcast, and production equipment for live events, including sporting events, concerts, and special events.
  • Execute assigned technical production duties, including camera operation, video switching, replay, graphics, audio support, and other broadcast systems based on event requirements.
  • Perform system testing, signal verification, equipment checks, and basic troubleshooting to ensure production readiness before and during events.
  • Follow production cues and communicate effectively with directors, producers, and production teams using intercom and other communication systems to deliver seamless live productions.
  • Provide technical support during live events, quickly resolving issues while maintaining a "fans first" mindset and delivering a high-quality guest and client experience.
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to assist outside a primary assigned role when needed.
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of live sports, entertainment, concert, or event-production experience.
  • A "fans first" customer-service mindset with the creativity and business awareness to support client service, sponsorship execution, special events, and revenue opportunities.
  • Ability to remain calm, collaborative, and decisive during live events and other time-sensitive situations.
  • Ability to independently complete assigned technical responsibilities with limited supervision, including equipment setup, system testing, operation, breakdown, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow cues, communicate over intercom, and work effectively as part of a production team.
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: Grass Valley K-Frame production switchers, Ross Carbonite production switchers, Evertz DreamCatcher replay, Ross XPression, XPression Tessera, DashBoard control, ENG, long-lens or RF camera operation, remote camera shading, A1 operation using Yamaha or Allen & Heath consoles, A2 support and portable sound-system setup, Riedel intercom and Bolero wireless, PTZ camera operation, and/or IPTV.
