We are looking for a Roll-Off Truck Driver capable of operating heavy duty collection vehicles and preparing, loading, and transporting large containers and compactors. Roll-Off Drivers must be capable of navigating narrow spaces, roadways, alleys, driveways and perform skilled maneuvers to deliver and receive containers. Must be able to drive 8/10 speed manual transmission. We are looking for a dedicated candidate to join our team and successfully perform these duties.


Responsibilities

  • Ability to safely operate vehicles in compliance with Company Rules, Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, and any other local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
  • Regularly deliver and empty large containers & compactors for our customers
  • Upon delivery ensures container lids and/or doors are properly replaced, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
  • Maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors and other resources to successfully back up
  • Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or politely directs them to contact Customer Service or Sales Representative for additional information
  • Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
  • Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement
  • Notifies supervisor of issues requiring management assistance.
  • Completes assigned tasks as required
  • Uses a keymap, GPS, on board tablet to locate service addresses
  • Follows safe operating practices, including policies and procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck and the safety of others.
  • Maintains clean truck and washes exterior weekly
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on standard Vehicle Inspection Reports
  • Inspect truck (Lift and inspect under the hood, walk around and check undercarriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires - Uses air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill)
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Attends/ participates in any trainings or meetings or trainings as required.
  • Use and operate technology and programs used by the company (tablets, computers, GPS systems, etc.)
  • Complete Route sheet, records mileage, fuel consumption, logbook (as required), vehicle condition reports, and other forms.
  • Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements

  • ย Conversational fluency in written and spoken English is REQUIRED
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with an air brake endorsement, able to drive a manual 8 speed transmission
