Senior Backend Developer - Node.js / GraphQL
This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT, CPT, or any other work authorization requiring employer sponsorship.
About the role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will make an impact by designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL. You will work closely with front-end teams building React-based Micro Frontend applications to ensure seamless API design, reliable integrations, and high-performing solutions.
You will be a valued member of the technology delivery team and work collaboratively with engineers, architects, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders in a modern, cloud-native Agile environment.
In this role, you will:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, NestJS, and ExpressJS.
  • Build and manage GraphQL schemas, resolvers, queries, and mutations to support React-based Micro Frontend applications.
  • Partner with front-end and Micro Frontend teams to define API contracts and ensure efficient, secure, and reliable data flow.
  • Develop cloud-native backend solutions using AWS services such as AWS Lambda, AWS AppSync, and AWS CDK.
  • Integrate backend services with SQL and NoSQL databases, third-party APIs, and internal enterprise systems.
  • Support authentication, authorization, data security, observability, CI/CD, automated testing, and production troubleshooting.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, sprint planning, estimations, and Agile/Scrum delivery.

What you need to have to be considered

  • Proven experience designing, building, and scaling GraphQL APIs, including schemas, resolvers, queries, and mutations.
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services, preferably including AWS Lambda, AWS AppSync, and AWS CDK.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, domain-driven design concepts, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong database experience across SQL and NoSQL technologies, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Redis.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and tracing tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Exposure to Java/J2EE and Spring Boot fundamentals.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, including two-week sprint delivery, planning, estimation, and release support.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
These will help you stand out
  • Experience collaborating with teams building React-based Micro Frontend applications.
  • Hands-on React experience or a strong understanding of front-end application integration patterns.
  • Prior experience supporting enterprise-scale, high-availability applications.
  • Strong API-first mindset with the ability to design reliable, secure, and maintainable API contracts.
