What is a Contract Typescript Developer?

A Contract Typescript Developer is a software professional who specializes in using the TypeScript programming language to build and maintain web and software applications on a contractual basis. Unlike full-time employees, contract developers are typically hired for specific projects or timeframes, providing flexibility for both the developer and the employer. Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an SDET in Lansing, MI.
Overview:
The client is looking for a strategic and hands-on SDET to help modernize and advance enterprise test automation practices. This individual must be able to understand the purpose behind testing initiatives, communicate technical concepts effectively, and contribute to quality strategy rather than simply execute assigned tasks.
This role focuses on developing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks across both UI and API layers using modern technologies such as Playwright and TypeScript. The position will also support manual testing activities within Agile teams, including test case development, exploratory testing, and validation of functionality that has not yet been automated. The goal is to empower development teams to take greater ownership of quality while accelerating delivery and improving product reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with Agile teams to review requirements, define acceptance criteria, and promote quality throughout the development lifecycle
* Design, build, and enhance automated testing frameworks for UI and API validation
* Support migration efforts from legacy testing tools to modern automation solutions
* Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and provide actionable feedback to development teams
* Perform test case design, exploratory testing, and validation of complex workflows
* Develop automated API and end-to-end tests covering functional and non-functional requirements
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to automation architecture decisions
* Write SQL queries to validate data integrity and support test data management
* Mentor team members and advocate for quality engineering best practices
* Maintain traceability between requirements, testing, and defect management processes
* Assist with manual testing efforts as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience with Playwright (TypeScript preferred), Cypress, or similar automation frameworks
* Background modernizing or migrating legacy automation solutions
* Familiarity with CI/CD environments, test reporting, dashboards, and quality metrics
* Experience with test management and requirements traceability tools

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
This job is not eligible for bonuses, incentives or commissions.
