Job description

General Description:Tyonek Services Group provides aviation maintenance, aircraft modification, prototype integration, flight test support, and aviation program management services in support of the Technology Development Directorate (TDD), Aviation and Systems Integration Division (A/SID).The Project Manager with Flying Duties provides on-site leadership and program management for contractor personnel and activities supporting aviation research, development, system integration, and flight test programs. In addition to project management responsibilities, this position performs flight test engineer/experimental test pilot duties in support of developmental ground and flight testing, aircraft modifications, prototype integration, and advanced aviation concepts.The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated leadership and program management experience, a strong background in developmental flight test, and the ability to coordinate effectively with Government customers, engineers, maintainers, aircrew, contractors, and other program stakeholders. The candidate should be capable of managing personnel, resources, schedules, and contract requirements while also planning, executing, and reporting experimental flight test activities.Duties:Shall be the contract point of contact for the Government and have the authority to act or make decisions.Successfully manage the technical approach, organizational resources and implement management controlsEmployed to meet the price, performance, and schedule requirements throughout the execution of this program.Assign work effort and maintain accurate time keeping records of personnel assigned to work on the requirement.Assure centralized control and overall management of personnel.Perform duties as a Flight Test Engineer or Experimental Test Pilot.Other duties as assigned.Education/Experience Requirements:Must possess a bachelor's degree or its equivalency in his or her related area of expertise.Must be a graduate of a U.S. Military Test Pilot Course.Minimum six (6) years professional experience.Must possess and maintain an FAA Class II/III flight physical and be capable of performing duties in Flight Test activities.Must possess or be able to attain a Secret security clearance.Must be a US Citizen.We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.Moderate travel is expected.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams supporting aircraft modification, prototype integration, developmental testing, or advanced aviation programs.Experience managing contractor personnel, staffing, schedules, travel, resources, deliverables, and day-to-day contract execution in support of a Government customer.Working knowledge of AR 95-1, AR 95-20, DCMA Instruction 8210.1, applicable Army aviation regulations, and flight and ground operating procedures.Experience serving as a Test Pilot, Test Director, Mission Briefing Officer, Air Mission Commander, or technical lead for complex ground and flight test activities.Physical Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
