Job Type: Full-Time, Regular

Compensation: $128,600-$199,300 a year depending on experience

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Environmental Planning Project Manager will lead utility, water, solar, telecom, and other development projects, acting as a strategic advisor. The role requires attracting and retaining clients while developing strategies to drive company growth and service expansion. Strong leadership and a proven track record in managing complex projects are essential.

  • Independently manage client relationships, budgets, schedules, and project resources

  • Track and manage project deliverables

  • Attend and lead project meetings

  • Document compliance/noncompliance with resource protection measures

  • Conduct background research and data collection to articulate practical recommendations to clients and regulatory agencies

  • Assist with participation and preparation of new business presentations

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Environmental Engineering, Archaeology, Architectural History, or closely related field

  • 12 years professional experience working in environmental consulting or closely related environmental industry

  • Strong knowledge of NEPA and Siting and Routing Studies

  • Strong writing and analysis skills with the ability to provide examples

  • Ability to perform work duties independently and efficiently with short deadlines

  • Highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required by business demands

  • Proven record of successfully managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to interpret contracts and scope of work documents and disseminate information to employees

  • Ability to perform work duties independently and efficiently with short deadlines, as well as working in a team setting

  • Effective communication skills, including:

    • Able to communicate with all levels of employees, both technical and non-technical

    • Verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Ability to train and educate employees

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous managerial experience

  • Financial training and/or certifications

  • Experience as Environmental Expert Witness

  • Experience working with or for federal, state, or local agencies is a plus

  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • Organizing and facilitating coordination meetings, both in person and virtual, for multi-disciplinary teams across a variety of internal and external parties

  • Public outreach and engagement

  • Familiarity with typical utility operations and maintenance activities

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and ESRI GIS applications (including desktop, ArcGIS, Collector, Survey123, etc.)

  • Excellent navigation skills and good driving record

  • Experience driving a four-wheel drive vehicle off-road or in rough terrain
