Conga lines up commercial operations so companies run as connected, smarter businesses. Job Title: Staff UX Researcher
Location: Houston, TX; Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Reports to: Manager, User Experience Design
A quick snapshot... As a Staff UX Researchers at Conga, you'll operate at the intersection of research strategy, cross-functional influence, and hands-on craft. You'll be a senior individual contributor role with broad scope - spanning multiple product areas, guiding our research program, and elevating the quality of how Conga builds for its customers. The strongest candidates are proactive, excellent communicators. You'll craft the right questions for each study, operationalize research programs, and translate findings into decisions that account for business and user needs. You work comfortably with ambiguity, build trust with partners across product, design, customer success, and engineering, and hold a clear perspective on what good research looks like.
Why it's a big deal... Conga's products are used by enterprise teams to manage some of the most consequential workflows in their business: contracts, pricing, revenue operations. When the experience is confusing, deals stall and teams lose trust in the tools. When it's clear and well-considered, it compounds.
As a Staff UX Researcher, your work shapes the research culture, methods, and activities that determine how deeply the entire organization understands its customers. The quality of your research will extend far beyond any single product study or area and will have a lasting impact.
Here's what you'll do...
  • Contribute to the build-out of Conga's UX Research Program, including research operations, templates, participant recruitment, establishing baseline metrics, and shared standards
  • Lead end-to-end research across complex, cross-functional product areas from planning through synthesis, analysis, insights, reporting, and actions
  • Design and run studies across a range of quantitative and qualitative methods, including concept validation, user interviews, usability testing, prototyping testing, and surveys
  • Translate research findings into clear, compelling narratives that inform product strategy and decision-making across leadership, PM, and engineering
  • Partner closely with product designers and PMs to embed research into every stage of the design and development process, working strategically to influence business outcomes
  • Mentor designers and PMs in applied research methods, building organizational research fluency over time
  • Define and track research metrics and KPIs over time and share results with leadership
  • Proactively identify research gaps across the product portfolio and advocate for prioritization based on business impact, user benefit, and risk mitigation
  • Partner closely with lead data analyst to determine the "why" behind user engagement analytics - including clicks, drop-offs, feature adoption, and session replays - uniting qualitative with quantitative analysis

Here's what we're looking for...
Related experience. You have:
  • 8+ years of UX research experience with a portfolio demonstrating complex enterprise or SaaS research work
  • Deep command of both generative and evaluative research methods and clear judgment about when to use which
  • Experience designing and scaling research operations through recruitment, templates, training, repositories, and tooling
  • Experience working in cross-functional enterprise environments with multiple simultaneous workstreams

Influence change. You have an ability to influence product and design direction through relationship-building and excellent communication strategies. Impact at this level comes from shaping how others think. You build alignment, earn trust, and move organizations forward through clear thinking and consistent follow-through.
Clear and confident communicator. You express your views with clarity and conviction, while remaining open to other perspectives. You're able to synthesis and communicate raw findings to a clear, stakeholder-ready narrative.
Tools and technology. You have proficiency in research tools (e.g., UserZoom, UserTesting, Alchemer, or comparable platforms) and complementary tools like MS Office, Tableau, PowerBI, and Claude.
Here's what will give you an edge...
Additional experience. You have experience:
  • In an enterprise SaaS software environment
  • Researching AI-powered product features, agentic workflows, or conversational interfaces
  • Building or contributing to a first-time research program or practice
  • Comfort with mixed methods approaches that integrate quantitative behavioral data alongside qualitative findings

Strategic curiosity. You don't just perform the task you're given. You dig into the details, shape the research plan, and connect findings to business context.
Passion for your craft. You care about the quality of every output - research program design, research planning, synthesis, and reporting.
Willingness to travel. You may be asked to travel occasionally (~10-15%) for research and team collaboration.
In the spirit of the Conga Way, we strive to design easy-to-understand compensation programs that are fair and free from any type of discrimination. In keeping with this approach, we are committed to delivering competitive compensation and benefits packages to our colleagues worldwide and communicating transparently about the structure of our compensation programs.
