POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for working with relational databases and query tools to identify system performance and data quality issues. The position performs data analysis using statistical software across multiple systems and interprets large datasets to identify trends and patterns. This position requires an understanding of data analyses, queries, and data visualization. This position must meet and maintain CJIS Security Training as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

• Using data analysis techniques, identifies database structure deficiencies and provides technical solutions;
• Analyzing data sources, data dictionaries, and database schemes;
• Creating and validates queries that promote access to data;
• Participating in establishing data protocols and data relationships;
• Participating in research programs, contracts, or projects;
• Contributing to technical planning, design, and testing activities;
• Developing reports and makes presentations as needed; and
• Preparing letters, memos, user instructions, and other correspondence.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Experience with database management systems, including utilizing SQL queries;
• Experience with cloud data storage and retrieval;
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and organization of data;
• Knowledge of basic project management principles;
• Ability to collect, compile, organize and analyze data;
• Ability to identify priorities and manage scope of project activities;
• Ability to prepare and present reports;
• Ability to facilitate meetings; and
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants.
