PA Licensed Elevator Mechanic

About Us

Family owned franchise seeking licensed elevator mechanics to join our Southeastern Pennsylvania team! We provide access and mobility equipment for seniors and people living with disabilities to allow them to live safely in their homes and live more independently. We also provide equipment for commercial spaces. This is extremely rewarding work with a wonderful team!

Job Summary

We are seeking skilled and motivated elevator and mobility mechanics to join our dynamic team. In the coming months, we will be expanding and seeking elevator mechanics. We will likely be hiring a few roles to cover this area and are open to your location & travel requests.

In this role, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance, & trouble shooting of elevators, vertical platform lifts, Bruno & Har Mar stairlifts, Human Care overhead patient lifts, National Ramp and other accessibility equipment both residentially and commercially. We are specifically looking for candidates who can work with home elevators (ASME 17.1 and 17.7) and light commercial opportunities (ASME 18.1).

Your expertise will help uphold safety standards and technical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment and deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the evaluation of projects at clients' homes and on commercial sites.

  • Work with clients & manufacturers throughout the installation, and service process.

  • Serve as the lead elevator mechanic for installation of elevators, vertical platform lifts, stairlifts and more both residentially and commercially.

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs as needed.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.

  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.

  • Conduct safety tests and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations related to elevator operation and maintenance.

  • Collaborate with field service teams to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and emergency responses efficiently.

  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and service reports for compliance and future reference.

  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about installation or maintenance activities and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as Elevator Mechanic as required by local regulations.

  • OR verifiable work experience in the industry + the eligibility and capacity to secure a state elevator mechanic’s license. This may require sitting for an elevator license test.

  • Proven experience working as an elevator mechanic or in a related role with a focus on hydraulics, electrical systems, or mechanical components.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by familiarity with schematics and technical diagrams.

  • Ability to read and understand factory shop drawings and construction blueprints.

  • Visual ability to read materials such as installation manuals

  • Ability to perform field service tasks independently while maintaining high safety standards.

  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices including preventive maintenance routines.

  • Excellent customer service skills to clearly and effectively communicate with clients and team members.

  • Strong mechanical ability, understanding of electronics, and experience with electrical wiring and theory.

  • Competence working with a wide assortment of tools.

  • Manual dexterity to manipulate small objects

  • Must be able to safely lift 100 lbs and get in and out of delivery truck without trouble.

  • Professional appearance, punctuality, strong attention to detail & ability to learn quickly.

  • Computer literacy

  • Requires clean driving record, reliable transportation & current valid driver’s license

  • Ability to pass background check

Hours, Pay & Additional Details

  • Hours approximately 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday

  • Some overnight travel (regional only), not regularly, never on weekends

  • We are open to part time, full time, or contract

  • Pay range $30 - $52/hour - commensurate with experience

  • Paid holidays + paid personal time off /year
