What you'll do

The Sr. Front End Software Engineer will own all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of product features in Docusign software products. You will primarily develop customer facing experiences using React/Typescript, as well as backend API UI-facing code either in NodeJS/C#. You enjoy fast-paced entrepreneurial environments where you can solve difficult problems using current technologies and tools. You collaborate well with other team members when brainstorming, designing, and implementing new solutions. You will also help the team succeed by thinking about ways to improve processes, suggesting ways to make the team more effective, and mentoring and modeling engineering best practices.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Software Engineering.

Responsibility

  • Design, develop, and maintain well crafted, responsive and modular UI, using React and Typescript

  • Build and maintain microservices and micro-frontend architectures

  • Ensure that UI and our entire stack enables responsive and seamless user experiences and functionality

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team, proactively get alignment on designs, communicate roadblocks

  • Guide and mentor other engineers through design and code reviews

  • Work closely with the founders and product managers to understand the why behind each capability in the platform

  • Help to drive alignment on the prioritization of engineering-driven priorities alongside product priorities

  • Be a key decision-maker in selecting our forward-looking front-end architecture and technology stack

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • B.S. in Computer Science or similar field of study

  • 8+ years of professional experience in fullstack software development utilizing frontend and backend technologies, like React, Typescript, or similar OOP

  • Experience with modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, WebSockets, etc.)

  • Experience with front-stack engineering using TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks

  • Experience building end-user-facing product experiences

  • Experience working with designers on design systems as well as authoring and maintaining shared components

  • Experience working with front-end analytics and experimentation frameworks

  • Experience in Integrating with REST APIs

Preferred

  • Well-formed opinions based on years of experience ensuring quality through predictable, scalable, and reliable end-to-end testing

  • Experience with Microsoft technology stack (Typescript)

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL solutions (e.g., Cosmos DB)

  • Experience with Enterprise SaaS software products

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $164,700.00 - $266,000.00 base salary

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $158,300.00 - $232,575.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
