Job description

Bulk Environmental & Industrial is a fast-growing leading professional transportation and logistics services company providing long-haul transportation, collection, and loading of waste and other materials. 

                                                

JOB SUMMARY:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will maintain and operate excavating and loading equipment. They will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining equipment at their assigned transfer stations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load vehicles correctly and efficiently.
  • Perform and document daily inspections of the equipment. 
  • Communicate and report to the Field Supervisor on breakdowns and operation needs.
  • Service, grease, and cleaning the machine on a daily basis.
  • Work with the scale system to put the maximum allowed weight on the vehicles.
  • Complete company issued training and certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience loading vehicles.
  • Experience operating Front End loader (CAT 950) and Grapple Excavator (Volvo EC220) or equivalent.
  • Be able to work the various shifts as needed.
  • Must be able to communicate with Field supervisor, fleet manager, drivers, and client’s representatives.
  • Follow thoroughly the safety rules and procedures.
  • Must be able to work a changing schedule based on demand.

Physical Demands

This job in a dynamic environment requires being sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Intermittently balancing, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, lifting, mental acuity, pulling pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity. Also requires heavy work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

Working Conditions

This job is located primarily in an outdoor environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
