Job description

Job Title: SeamstressJob Description

This role focuses on cutting and sewing materials using established patterns to produce high-quality upholstered products. You will work with vinyl and other upholstery materials, including stretching and fitting them, and operate industrial sewing machines in a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Read and follow patterns accurately to cut and assemble materials into finished products.
  • Cut fabric, vinyl, and other upholstery materials to precise measurements.
  • Sew materials together using industrial sewing machines, including double-needle machines when required.
  • Stretch and fit vinyl and upholstery materials over foam and other substrates to achieve a clean, professional finish.
  • Perform upholstery tasks such as covering, padding, and securing materials as part of the production process.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards, correct stitching, and proper material alignment.
  • Maintain sewing machines and related equipment by performing basic cleaning and minor adjustments.
  • Work efficiently to meet production goals and deadlines on a consistent basis.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area in the manufacturing facility.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on sewing experience, including the ability to operate sewing machines confidently.
  • Experience working with vinyl materials, including stretching and fitting vinyl over surfaces.
  • Upholstery experience, such as covering, padding, and assembling upholstered components.
  • Experience working with foam as part of upholstery or assembly processes.
  • Ability to operate industrial sewing machines, including double-needle machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow patterns and measurements accurately.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment and meeting production requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in upholstery or industrial sewing within a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Familiarity with different upholstery materials and their handling characteristics.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor sewing machine adjustments and troubleshoot simple issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
