Background:

As a Machine Operator, you will set up and operate assigned packaging machines to pre-established line run speed. They will ensure to pack the optimum number of quality packages of product; Check that products are dated and sealed in accordance with all safety, SOPs and cGMP guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and manage machines to perform at the desired, pre-established specifications.
  • Ensure machine operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company.
  • Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
  • Provides direction to other line members and ensures smooth operation.
  • Responsible for completing Packaging Filling Records.
  • Visually inspect labels for defects and run samples.
  • Record all machine actions by completing production logs.
  • Produce High Quality finished goods (At All Times)
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Escalates quality, service, and equipment performance issues to supervision.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor which may become necessary to support departmental/organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • High School degree or GED, desired.
  • Prior working knowledge in a manufacturing, packaging, or pharmaceutical industry, preferred.
  • Basic math and command of English reading and writing.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish desired.
  • Must be able to safely operate the machine for the intended purpose.
  • Must be able to keep up with the line speed of machinery.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, based on volume needs, which could require weekends, and/or working overtime during high demand.
  • Understand, follow, and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and adherence to defined procedures, safety rules and SOPs.
  • Ability to work in various weather/temperature conditions to include heat, humidity and cold.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and loud production environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
  • Attention to details.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to frequently lift 70 lbs./move heavy objects.
  • Constant manual dexterity use.
  • Required to stand for long period of time.


Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, including hot, cold, and humid conditions.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, forklifts, and other warehouse machinery.
  • Noise levels are typically moderate to high; hearing protection may be required in certain areas.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes must be worn as required.
  • Work pace may be fast with frequent deadlines and shifting priorities.

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $19.00-$20.00*. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
