Job description

Job Description Our client is an established and growing company seeking an Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This is a DIRECT HIRE role and an excellent long-term career opportunity for a senior professional looking to step into a technical authority and mentorship position. The Role As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for complex Multi-Family Residential, Commercial, and Industrial building projects, as well as subdivision developments.

You will oversee the full project lifecycle-from initial concept through construction-ensuring high-quality designs, code compliance, and practical, buildable solutions. This role offers the opportunity to provide technical direction and mentorship to a growing team of designers and EITs. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Act as the lead for Multi-Family Residential, Commercial, and Industrial building projects, as well as municipal land development.

Engineering Design: Oversee power distribution, lighting layouts, fire alarm/life safety systems, and standby power (UPS/generators). Subdivision Design: Lead low- and medium-voltage distribution systems, streetlighting, and communications networks for large-scale land developments. Quality Assurance: Review and stamp drawings and specifications, ensuring all deliverables meet internal QA/QC standards and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).

Project Coordination: Liaise with the City of Edmonton, EPCOR, and other authorities; coordinate with internal civil, structural, and mechanical teams. Mentorship: Coach junior staff, review their work, and contribute to the development of design standards. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Certification: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered and in good standing with APEGA. Industry Expertise: 5+ years of consulting electrical engineering experience, with strong building design expertise across the Multi-Family, Commercial, and Industrial sectors. Technical Knowledge: Expertise in the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Alberta Building Code, and Municipal standards (City of Edmonton and EPCOR requirements)

Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit and lighting calculation software is highly preferred.
