The Associate Director, MES Program Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) across our global operations. This role will drive cross‑functional alignment, ensure successful delivery of complex manufacturing system initiatives, and champion standardization, scalability, and best‑in‑class digital manufacturing practices.


The ideal candidate combines strong program management discipline with deep MES knowledge and the ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, IT, quality, and leadership teams.

** This is a hybrid-based position at one of Collins’ major facilities. **

What YOU will do:

  • Assist in the development and execution of the multi‑year MES roadmap to align with business and operations strategy.

  • Lead end‑to‑end program management for MES deployments, upgrades, and integrations
    Translate business objectives into functional MES requirements and scalable system solutions.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing sites, engineering, quality, supply chain, and IT to drive standardization and adoption.

  • Oversee project planning, budgets, timelines, risk management, change management, and communications.

  • Ensure MES integrates effectively with enterprise systems.

  • Establish governance structures, performance metrics, and continuous improvement processes.

  • Partner with site leadership to ensure readiness (data, processes, training, validation) for MES go‑live.

  • Develop and maintain documentation including user requirements, functional specs, validation protocols, and SOPs.

  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate technology enhancements or new solution opportunities.

  • Mentor and guide MES project managers, analysts, and site SMEs.

  • Drive compliance with regulatory, quality, and cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • 8+ years experience with program management oversight of DT software development or infrastructure initiatives with 3+ years experience building and managing schedules in MS Project.

  •  Proven experience managing large scale programs involving complex enterprise systems, such as ERP, Payroll, Data Repository, or Engineering systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to interface and collaborate with concurrent Enterprise programs, managing dependencies, resources, and schedule.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive reporting skills.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience managing integration to one or more MES platforms

  • Strong knowledge of MES platforms

  • Strong understanding of middleware technologies

  • PMP or Agile certification.

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
