POSITION SUMMARY: Madison County Public Schools is seeking Bus Drivers. We have openings for School Bus Drivers with a valid CDL license. Our Bus Drivers are an essential part in our educational system, and we value their contributions.
REQUIRED:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • CDL Class B with Air Break/Bus Passenger license required or willing to achieve one
  • Clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must pass a yearly School Bus Driver physical

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Transports children to and from school in the morning and afternoons
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of children and adults being transported
  • Completes an inspection of the bus daily before and after every route and reports any conditions of concern to the Supervisor
  • Willing to help out with transporting students attending field trips and other school activities
  • Ensures that all communication devices are in proper working order (two-way radio)
  • Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Manage routes and additional trips as needed.
  • Attend and participates in pre-service and in-service training
  • Performs other duties as assigned

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience; $14,560 - $25,480, 10 month 182 contract days. A benefits package is available to include sick leave, personal leave, Virginia Retirement System, and partial payment for health insurance
