Tree Crew Groundsman / Laborer (Government Site Work Eligible)

Position Overview

Prestige Tree Experts is seeking a hardworking Groundsman / Laborer to support our professional tree crews. This position plays a critical role in the safe and efficient removal, pruning, and cleanup of trees.

A large portion of this position involves work on secure government properties, including military bases and federal facilities.

Important Requirement

Applicants must be eligible to pass a government bkg check and gain access to secure federal facilities (military bases, Department of State properties, etc.).

A clean background suitable for government clearance is required for this position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist tree crews with tree removals, pruning, and site cleanup
  • Drag brush and branches from work areas to the chipper
  • Operate wood chippers and assist with debris processing
  • Maintain a safe and organized job site
  • Support climbers and bucket operators during rigging and removals
  • Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials
  • Assist with stump grinding and general tree care operations
  • Follow all safety procedures and industry best practices

This is a physically demanding outdoor job that requires strength, stamina, and a strong work ethic.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and drag heavy branches and logs
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the day
  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment and chainsaws

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Experience working for a tree service or landscaping company
  • Experience operating mini skid steers (Ditch Witch / Dingo / Vermeer / Premier)
  • Experience assisting with rigging and rope work
  • CDL license
  • Experience operating chippers or stump grinders
