The Opportunity

As the Senior Director, GPF Program Delivery and Operational Excellence, you will serve as a strategic leader accountable for the overarching direction, mid-term strategy, and operational execution of Genentech Patient Foundation (GPF, an independent, non-profit 501c3) programs. In this role, you will act as the primary decision-maker for Foundation operations, ensuring Frontline support services seamlessly enable product access and drug delivery for eligible patients across all therapeutic areas.

  • Lead and execute strategic GPF Board of Directors workstreams, architecting high-impact donor presentations in close partnership with the Head of GPF.
  • Drive nationwide operational alignment to standardize the patient experience across multiple therapeutic areas through all product life cycle stages.
  • Own the nationwide execution of new GPF programs, embedding Board-approved decisions into patient support services across all Genentech products.
  • Spearhead strategic realignments of processes, SOPs, and systems to maximize operational efficiency while safeguarding GPF’s independent 501(c)(3) charitable status.
  • Address highly complex patient cases, escalations, and exception requests, establishing structural changes to resolve systemic issues.
  • Provide end-to‑end oversight of a high‑volume, high‑value charitable product inventory, defining shipping and distribution standards that align with pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Partner closely with PX Delivery Regional Leads, Marketing, and Customer Engagement leadership to integrate strategic insights into GPF operational planning.
Who you are
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business, finance, healthcare management, public policy) or equivalent experience (advanced degree preferred).
  • You bring 12–15+ years of professional industry experience in healthcare, reimbursement, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or operations management.
  • You have 5+ years of direct people management experience leading teams through change.
  • You possess a proven track record of planning, prioritizing, and managing complex process changes and operational realignments.
  • You exhibit strong influencing and communication skills, with a comfort in utilizing data and technology to improve patient outcomes.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree (Master's, MBA, relevant PhD, or JD).
  • Direct experience working with or supporting a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation or patient assistance program within the biopharmaceutical space.
  • Deep expertise in pharmaceutical supply chain, inventory management, or drug distribution regulations.

Location This role is based in South San Francisco and offers a hybrid schedule working 3 days per week on campus. No relocation benefits are available for this posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of CA is $206,800 - $384,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
