This Position reports to:
Engineering Manager
What you'll do:
You will be the design authority for the engineering discipline. You will complete assignments on multiple projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also ensure assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.
This role is: onsite in our Auburn Hills, MI headquarters.
Main duties include:
  • Translating customer needs into executable technical solutions and system architectures, balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and long-term supportability.
  • Providing technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning.
  • Proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities while driving corrective actions to ensure reliable, high-quality system delivery.
  • Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.

Qualifications
  • You are highly skilled with structured text & ladder logic, HMI/SCADA development, electrical schematic design, system integration, functional safety and the advanced automation, robotics market.
  • You have 8+ years of experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, electrical system design, or mechatronic systems designing robotic cells, motion control systems, power distribution panels, safety systems or custom machinery for customers.
  • You are adept in PLC programming using Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical
  • You showcase problem solving and system-level thinking as well as cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership in a global setting.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Associates and 10+ equivalent or high school diploma and 12+ equivalent relative years experience.
  • You are at ease communicating in professional-level English across multiple countries.
  • You are authorized to work in the United States.
