Position Summary

TenCate Americas is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead and support contract management activities across its U.S. operations. This role will oversee contract formation, review, negotiation, administration, and reporting for a fast-paced, multi-entity organization with construction, manufacturing, and field-based operations.

The Contracts Manager will partner closely with Legal, Business Development, Estimating, Operations, Procurement, and executive leadership to assess commercial risk, support effective contracting strategies, and help ensure agreements align with business objectives and TenCate standards.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and support TenCate Americas’ Design amp; Installation contracts function, including contract formation, review, negotiation, administration, and commercial contracting strategy.

  • Draft, review, and manage multiple customer agreements, subcontracts, purchase orders, service agreements, and other commercial contracts simultaneously.

  • Partner with Business Development, Estimating, Operations, Procurement, and other stakeholders to structure and negotiate agreements for prospective and active projects.

  • Analyze contract terms to identify commercial, operational, financial, and legal risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies or alternative language.

  • Coordinate internal review and approval of contracts with senior leadership, Legal, Finance, and other appropriate stakeholders.

  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding contract status, obligations, and interpretation of terms.

  • Prepare and maintain contract status reports, trackers, templates, and related documentation.

  • Keep Legal and designated business leaders informed of contract status, execution risks, and potential impediments.

  • Support Legal and business teams with project disputes and claims, including preparation and negotiation of claim documentation and recommendations regarding contractual rights, remedies, and next steps.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders across TenCate Americas.

  • Promote high ethical standards, confidentiality, continuous improvement, and consistent contracting practices across the organization.

  • Identify opportunities to standardize templates, improve workflows, and leverage best practices across TenCate entities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or a related field, with five to seven years of relevant contract management or administration experience in the construction industry; or nine or more years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience negotiating and administering moderate to complex contracts for construction, engineering, or project-based organizations.

  • Working knowledge of commercial contracting practices, procurement requirements, and construction-related agreements; experience with government contracting or procurement is a plus.

  • Strong judgment, business acumen, and the ability to identify risk while developing practical, commercially sound solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of attention to detail, organization, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders at all levels without direct reporting authority.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a global, decentralized, multi-entity, or matrixed organization.

  • Experience supporting construction, civil engineering, sports construction, manufacturing, or field installation operations.

  • Fluency in Spanish or another language.

Work Environment
  • This role may require occasional travel to TenCate operating locations or project sites.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet applicable company driving requirements.

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable background screening requirements.

Why Join TenCate Americas
  • Opportunity to help strengthen and standardize contracting practices across a growing, multi-entity organization.

  • Collaborative, cross-functional environment with exposure to legal, operational, commercial, and executive leadership teams.

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, holidays, and 401(k).
