What are Contract Remote Golang Developers?

Contract Remote Golang Developers are software engineers who specialize in the Go programming language (often called Golang) and work on a contractual basis from remote locations. They are typically hired for specific projects or timeframes rather than as full-time, permanent employees. Their responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems, APIs, and other applications using Go, often collaborating with distributed teams. Contract remote work offers flexibility for both developers and employers, allowing access to a global talent pool and the ability to scale teams up or down as needed.

As a Senior Backend Developer (PHP/Golang), you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of scalable backend services powering high-performance digital products. Working in a fully remote, product-focused environment, you will play a key role in modernizing existing systems, building new microservices, and ensuring reliability across high-load applications. You will collaborate with experienced engineers in a culture that values innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies, influence technical decisions, and solve complex engineering challenges while supporting the growth of large-scale platforms.

Accountabilities
  • Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing backend services developed in PHP and Golang.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new backend services using Golang and modern software engineering practices.
  • Build scalable, high-performance solutions capable of supporting high-load production environments.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient backend solutions.
  • Optimize database queries, caching strategies, and service performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of system architecture and microservices infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement robust, long-term technical solutions.
  • Share technical expertise and contribute to engineering best practices across the development team.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of professional experience developing backend applications with PHP 7/8.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing applications in Golang.
  • Strong experience designing and working with microservices architectures.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining high-load, scalable applications.
  • Solid understanding of modern PHP frameworks and dependency injection principles.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
  • Experience implementing caching solutions and message brokers such as RabbitMQ.
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Kafka, MongoDB, AI agents, or product/iGaming environments is considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative approach to software development.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work with the flexibility to work from your preferred location.
  • Official employment options with administrative support where applicable.
  • 20 paid working days of annual leave, public holidays, and paid sick leave.
  • Comprehensive private health insurance.
  • Mental health support through a dedicated psychological wellbeing program.
  • Monthly flexible benefits budget that can be used for sports, hobbies, wellness, or personal interests.
  • Individual learning and development budget for courses, certifications, and professional training.
  • Corporate English language lessons, workshops, and access to an online learning library.
  • Clear career progression framework supported by regular performance reviews and mentoring opportunities.
  • Regular team-building activities, internal events, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Opportunity to work on modern, large-scale technology products in an innovative and fast-growing environment.
