Title: Director of Informatics
Compensation: $145K - $160K Annual Salary
Schedule: Business Hours
Location: Open to qualified candidates in Orange County, Fresno or Bakersfield
- Position is almost fully remote, but will require travel to all three sites on occasion

Job Summary
The Director of Clinical Informatics provides strategic and operational leadership for clinical data, analytics, and health information systems in support of a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) healthcare model. This role partners closely with clinical, operational, quality, and administrative leadership to optimize Electronic Health Records (EHR), improve interdisciplinary team (IDT) workflows, strengthen quality and compliance outcomes, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate has strong healthcare informatics expertise, understands clinical operations, and excels at translating data into meaningful insights that improve care delivery, efficiency, and regulatory performance.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead and champion the use of clinical informatics, data analytics, and reporting to improve quality, operational efficiency, patient safety, and regulatory outcomes.
  • Partner with clinical leadership and interdisciplinary teams to optimize EHR workflows, clinical documentation, and data collection processes.
  • Oversee data governance, validation, analysis, and reporting to support performance improvement, compliance, and organizational decision-making.
  • Develop and enhance dashboards, reports, and analytics tools to provide leadership with timely, actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with program and department leaders to define, monitor, and refine performance metrics related to quality, utilization, and operational effectiveness.
  • Analyze current systems, workflows, policies, and procedures; recommend improvements and lead implementation of approved changes.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to informatics, data management, and reporting.
  • Provide direct and indirect leadership to Business Analysts, Quality Analysts, and informatics staff across departments.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and predictive analytics to reduce clinical and administrative burden.
  • Participate in strategic planning and lead informatics initiatives that support organizational goals and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, PACE regulations, and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Build collaborative relationships with external partners, vendors, and health systems to support data sharing and interoperability.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement and develop actionable solutions.
  • Lead training, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of healthcare informatics, clinical workflows, quality improvement, and performance measurement.
  • Working knowledge of EHR systems, clinical applications, and healthcare data environments.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, dashboards, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to interpret data, apply statistical concepts, and present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.

Experience and Education Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a healthcare setting supporting clinical systems, informatics, quality, or data analytics.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in data analysis, informatics, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting clinical operations, EHR optimization, and workflow improvement preferred.
  • Prior experience in PACE, managed care, geriatrics, or value-based care is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Public Health, Behavioral Health, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Must meet organizational health clearance and immunization requirements prior to participant contact.
