About the Role
We are seeking an Intermediate Software Developer to support the modernization and ongoing operations of a mission-critical reporting system for a federal government client. This role focuses on migrating and enhancing applications across the Salesforce platform, AWS, and the Snowflake data warehouse. The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain software of moderate complexity, contribute to larger complex solutions, and help extend an existing modernization architecture to support new applications. You will work in an Agile/Scrum environment alongside client stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams.
Work Location
This position is telework/remote. All work must be performed within the continental United States (lower 48 states and Washington, DC). Occasional on-site presence in the Washington, DC area may be required based on client needs.
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree with three (3) or more years of relevant software development experience.
● Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce low-code platforms.
● Hands-on AWS full-stack experience required, including experience supporting architects, guiding development teams, and delivering solutions using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
● AWS certification(s) and/or demonstrated equivalent experience. (Equivalent experience may be substituted for certifications.)
● Extensive experience contributing to design, development, and administration of Salesforce low-code platform projects end to end, including leveraging out-of-the-box (OOTB) marketplace plugins in place of custom code where appropriate.
● Strong background in SQL with experience in Informix and Snowflake databases.
● Experience defining requirements; estimating work effort; and designing, developing, testing, implementing, and troubleshooting ETL mappings and workflows for large data warehouse projects, including maintaining ETL-related technical documentation.
● Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile development best practices.
● Excellent communication skills, particularly in conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
● Federal / government contracting experience.
● Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST guidelines, data governance frameworks, and security requirements relevant to federal contracts.
● Proven experience working with diverse teams in a structured, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Design, code, unit test, implement, and maintain software of moderate complexity; assist with modules of large, highly complex solutions.
● Define solution objectives by analyzing user requirements, mapping requirements to design options, and recommending solutions based on customer priorities.
● Engage with stakeholders to gather functional and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and contract requirements.
● Develop and configure Salesforce applications to client needs, implementing security best practices to comply with government regulations (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
● Write reusable, maintainable code to enhance existing applications or build new functionality.
● Design, implement, and maintain data storage and retrieval structures using Informix databases in compliance with data protection regulations.
● Develop and maintain integration solutions across Salesforce, Informix, and Snowflake to support reporting, analytics, and operations; use middleware and ETL tools to keep data synchronized with integrity and security.
● Implement data governance and ensure proper data handling per federal guidelines.
● Maintain accurate, comprehensive technical documentation (architecture diagrams, user manuals, compliance reports) per client standards.
● Conduct unit tests and participate in system integration testing to meet quality standards; support audits and compliance reviews.
● Provide technical support to end-users and participate in a help desk / support ticket rotation to resolve application and database issues.
● Collaborate with IT colleagues and other departments to identify system improvements and efficiencies; facilitate training for staff on new technologies.
● Stay current with emerging technologies across Salesforce, database best practices, and data analytics tools.
