Job description

Site Reliability Engineer II

Bay Area, offices in San Jose Hybrid 24/7 FedRAMP Operations Rotational Shift Initial Contract till March 27.

KEY REQUIREMENT

This role requires US citizenship and residence on US soil. It sits within a FedRAMP Moderate-authorised environment, so FedRAMP suitability and US-soil-only eligibility are non-negotiable, not preferred.

Eyes on glass. Hands on the pipeline. Real ownership from day one.

This isn't a watch-and-wait monitoring seat. Our client needs engineers who can read a Kibana query at 3am, know the difference between a blip and a breach, and act on it, on a FedRAMP-authorised cloud platform that genuinely can't afford downtime. If you're a couple of years into SRE or cloud support and want your next role to open doors into FedRAMP and GovCloud work, this is a strong place to build that experience.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Real-time monitoring and first-response triage.ย Across AWS (Commercial/GovCloud) and EKS infrastructure.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Log-level root cause investigation.ย In Kibana and Elasticsearch, you'll actually dig, not just escalate.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย CVE remediation and STIG hardening.ย On your patch, within FedRAMP SLA windows.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Deployment execution and troubleshooting.ย Through GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, and Argo Workflows.

Requirements

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 3+ yearsย in SRE, DevOps, systems administration, or cloud support.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Solid Linux administrationย (RHEL, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu) and comfort with bash/Python scripting.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Working knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS, AWS core services,ย and L4/L7 load balancing troubleshooting.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Prometheus, Grafana, and ChatOps-via-Slack experience.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย US citizenship and US-soil residency,ย with genuine availability for overnight/weekend rotational shifts. This is non-negotiable.

Benefits

WHAT YOU'LL GET FROM US

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย A defined engagement.ย Mid-September through end of March, with clear shift expectations up front.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Competitive W2 hourly rate.ย $70-$90/hr, with overnight/weekend shift premium built in, DOE.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย A genuine reference point.ย For FedRAMP/GovCloud experience on your CV, and a real stepping stone toward Senior SRE.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Real support.ย From a delivery partner that treats contractors like people, not headcount.
