Job description

Journeyman Electrician / Low Voltage Installation Technician (Contract) 

ActioNet is seeking a Journeyman Electrician / Low Voltage Installation Technician to support electrical and telecommunications infrastructure projects in the Yuma AZ with regional travel. This is a contract opportunity for a hands-on professional with experience performing commercial electrical and low-voltage installations.

 The ideal candidate has 2+ field experience, strong conduit and cabling installation skills, and the ability to support project-based work requiring occasional travel. This role is well suited for a licensed technician who enjoys hands-on installation work and supporting mission-critical infrastructure deployments.

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Contractor (6-8 months)
  • Location: Miramar / Southern California
  • Hourly Rate:    $ 56.00 
  • Travel: Travel up to 50% may be required to support customer locations and project activities

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical and low-voltage installation activities supporting telecommunications infrastructure, network systems, and facility upgrades.
  • Perform Inside Plant (ISP) installation activities, including cable routing, rack installation, equipment connections, cable management, and labeling.
  • Support Outside Plant (OSP) activities, including pathway installation, cable placement, and infrastructure support.
  • Install and work with electrical circuits, panels, grounding and bonding systems, UPS systems, PDUs, and related infrastructure components.
  • Install and bend EMT conduit, including 1” and 2” EMT, performing 90-degree bends, offsets, saddles, and back-to-back bends.
  • Perform cable terminations, certification testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and installation documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain a safe work environment while working in construction, telecommunications, and outdoor field environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working under a C-7 or similar low-voltage contractor.
  • 2+ years of commercial EMT installation and low-voltage/electrical installation experience. 
  • Experience working with 1” and 2” EMT conduit, including bends, offsets, saddles, and back-to-back bends.
  • Experience installing structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred. 
  • Ability to travel as required to support project needs.
  • Ability to safely perform physical field work, including lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and working in various environments.
  • Clean record and Valid Driver's License (to get on military installments and travel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting telecommunications, data center, government, or DoD infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with BICSI installation standards.
  • Knowledge of grounding/bonding requirements and telecommunications infrastructure.
