Job Summary: QA Tester (API Automation) - Contract to Hire | Columbus, OH
[About the Role]
Join a dynamic engineering team as a QA Tester specializing in REST API automation. In this contract-to-hire position, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of modern, cloud-based applications. Work alongside top-tier professionals, leverage advanced automation tools, and impact critical systems in a fast-paced, agile environment.
[Responsibilities]
- Design, develop, and execute automated REST API test scripts using Karate framework or REST Assured
- Conduct comprehensive database testing to ensure data integrity and backend reliability
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Perform performance and load testing using JMeter to maximize application stability
- Validate JSON/XML responses, authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT), and API schema compliance
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and fellow QA engineers to drive the highest quality standards
- Mentor junior QA team members and share best practices across engineering teams
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contribute to process improvement, and own testing across the SDLC
